These fun earrings are quite different from any that I've ever created before. The colors are gold, cranberry red, and jade green, and the focals are vintage German glass framed with freshwater pearls and seed beads. The top cabochons are 13x18mm foiled rainbow colors, and the bottom cabochons are jade colored rectangles with a lovely pattern pressed into the glass. The two elements are joined so that the bottom squares hang freely (see the video).
The gold beads are century old French brass (non-magnetic). They were rescued from a 1920s French steel purse and burnished to their original brilliance. Look closely, and you will see that they are little works of art, perfectly shaped with diamond facets (size P4). They add a sparkle unlike anything that glass beads could possibly contribute. These metal beads have not been produced since before WWII, so you are truly getting a tiny piece of history.
The green seed beads are Czech, and are considered "greasy" glass. The larger ones are cuts, with a single facet that catches the light. The cranberry beads are Toho 3-cuts, a bead that the company discontinued manufacturing awhile back.
The cranberry freshwater pearls are dyed and have a really nice glow to the nacre.
